On Tuesday, 29th July 2008, a demonstration by Persatuan Seni Silat Cekak Malaysia Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (PSSCMUTP) was held at Multipurpose Hall (MPH) UTP. This demonstration involved 21 members of PSSCMUTP including the Commandant, Mr. Ariff bin Mohd Abdul Wahid. This event was being witnessed by Mr. Firdaus Farid bin Abdul Rashid, the Assistant District Officer of Kerian, Perak, who is also the Alumni of PSSCMUTP. The purpose of this demonstration was for the recruitment of new intake for the July 2008 semester, besides introducing PSSCMUTP as one of the martial art clubs in UTP.
Started at 9.00pm, this event began with prayers recitation followed by a montage screening. Then, the demonstration set in. The Information Officer for this demonstration was Mr. Arif bin Mohd. Zainudin, who is also the Treasurer for PSSCM of Perak Branch. Meanwhile, the Commentator for this demonstration was Mr. Mohd Azuwan bin Maoinser. The hall was fully occupied by UTP students especially from the Foundation program. The audiences were given some refreshments when the demonstration came to the end.
