For the past 2 days, I had been quarantined at home. The reason was simple. Everybody knows. It's all related to the pandemic Influenza A (H1N1). The story began when I got back from Ipoh last Tuesday. I've had fever since that morning. I just thought it as a normal fever, but I'm still worried. That evening, when I reached my hometown, Penang, I still had the high fever that it did show any sign of diminishing and started to cause pain on my back.
My parents took me to the Penang General Hospital. Gosh...So many people, I can tell you, were queuing even to register their name. No need to tell I suppose, almost all people there were having the same illness as mine. Some of them were wearing the face mask and some were not.
We had to wait for at least 40 minutes to see the doctor. The doc questioned me; when I got this fever, where was I from, in which instituition I'm studying, so on and so forth. Of course I told him about the closure of UTP. The doc took my body temperature. OMG! It was nearly 40 degree Celcius. (The minimum temperature to be suspected for H1N1 is 37 degree Celsius). huh. The doc said that I already had most of the H1N1 symptoms but luckily I did not fall sick yet; like hard to breathe, continuously vomiting, easily to pass out and etc. So, I was still considered safe.
He also said that the pain on my back was caused by the over high temperature. The mandatory was, I must be quarantined at home. I was given the guideline for H1N1 and a few face masks. I need to wear the face mask even when I want to talk with my family members. huhu. At last, I had to bed-rest for the last 2 days, full, without going anywhere even inside my house, meaning to say, I need to self-isolate myself (eat-medicine-sleep-eat-medicine-sleep-...). I was served like a princess. hehe~
But now, I'm recovering. I'm OK. No need to worry anymore. :)
ALHAMDU LILLAH~
So guys, take care of your health well. Make sure you all practice the proper personal hygiene. Attend the doctor as fast as possible when you have any symptoms of H1N1. :)
